The bottleneck in automatic case packing and sealing is rarely the packer’s pick speed—it is the flap folding sequence at the sealer infeed. Corrugated flaps that have been compressed during packing tend to spring back or overlap unevenly, and a sealer that applies tape over a mis-folded flap produces a case that looks sealed but opens in the warehouse. This line includes a flap conditioning station between the packer discharge and the sealer infeed: heated rollers briefly
